What is Wrong With This Picture?

I read a news article today which said two investment brokers are being fined more than $400,000 for misleading military personnel regarding investments.

I do not believe our military personnel are the highest paid people in this country. I do believe they might invest money in mutual funds to try and get some type of security for their families. These two brokers - in their greed - basically conned everyone by stating false claims regarding the mutual fund they were promoting. They also did not mention they would receive 50% commission on all investments made in the first year. This means if a soldier invested $1,000 in the first year, these brokers received $500. of that investment.

Walter Reed, that now infamous military hospital, was treating our wounded soldiers worse than animals.

Our soldiers in Iraq are losing their children because many spouses are divorcing them and when the soldier cannot show up in court because of being out of the country, the courts are automatically awarding children to the parent still here and taking away the parental rights of the soldier.

The National Guard was formed to protect the state they are from, and in a time of war to protect the country. There are now not enough National Guard left in the states to be utilized in case of an emergency because most are now in Iraq.

These soldiers are our sons and daughters. They are not mindless machines to be used and cast away. They are over there to protect us so we have the freedom to go on with our daily lives. How dare we allow them to be treated in such a dastardly manner? How dare these investment brokers steal monies from people being wounded and dying so these brokers can buy a bigger house or a more expensive car. How dare our judges allow them to lose their parental rights because they cannot show up in court?

They are over there protecting us, the least we can do is protect their rights until they get back home.
